First off, there will be a workshop on Fermentation Basics October 20 (This Thursday) at 7pm at ACEnet (On Columbus Road). Fermentation is a great, healthy way to preserve your summer produce!! Kelly Shaw will be giving an overview of how to ferment and the health benefits.
Second, the Chesterhill Produce Auction will be putting on the event Old Fashioned Farm Days this Saturday October 22 from 10am to 4pm in the normal location. This is the last auction of the season and will include arts and crafts and homemade food.
Saturday is full of local food goodness! To learn about a native fruit called the Persimmon, come to the Wild Foods Workshop at 2pm in Amesville! The workshop is offered by Community Food Initiatives. For event details contact Badger Johnson, 740 – 593-5971.
